How the PINS and Procore Integration Works

Last updated: July 10, 2026

Most GCs manage subcontractor compliance in one system and project data in another. The two rarely talk to each other. Project managers check Procore for project status and have no visibility into whether a subcontractor's COI is current. The compliance team works in a separate tool and has no direct connection to what is active in Procore. The result is a gap that gets filled manually, usually by someone sending an email or making a call.

The PINS and Procore integration closes that gap. Compliance status flows between PINS and Procore automatically so project teams and compliance teams are looking at the same information without duplicating work.

What the integration does

Procore data flows into PINS

When the integration is active, project, vendor, and commitment data syncs from Procore into PINS automatically. PINS uses that data to create corresponding records, the right subcontractors, tied to the right projects and commitments, without manual entry by the compliance team.

This means your compliance team does not need to rebuild your Procore project structure inside PINS. The integration handles it. When a new commitment is created in Procore, PINS picks it up and generates the corresponding compliance record.

COI compliance status flows back into Procore

Once the compliance team collects and reviews subcontractor documents in PINS, a single compliance status flows back into Procore. Project managers see current compliance status directly in their Procore project view without logging into PINS or asking the compliance team for an update.

The status is tied to the commitment, so PMs can see at a glance which subcontractors on a given project are compliant, which are pending, and which have open gaps.

Embedded side panel in Procore

A PINS side panel appears throughout the Procore application showing compliance reporting for the active project. Project managers can access detailed compliance information and a direct link into PINS without leaving Procore.

This means compliance visibility is built into the workflow PMs already use, rather than requiring a separate login to a separate system.

What each team sees

Project managers in Procore

Real-time compliance status by subcontractor, tied to the commitment. A side panel with PINS compliance reporting accessible from within Procore. A direct link into PINS for deeper detail when needed. No separate login required for basic compliance visibility.

Compliance team in PINS

Full COI tracking workflow: document collection, AI-assisted review, renewal follow-up, exception management, and audit history. Procore project and commitment data already populated so no manual setup is needed when a new project starts. Compliance status automatically pushed back to Procore once documents are approved.

Why this matters for GCs

Subcontractor compliance gaps create delays. A sub who cannot get on site because their COI is expired holds up the project. A sub who starts work without compliant coverage creates liability exposure that surfaces later.

The gap between when a compliance issue exists and when someone with authority to act on it finds out is where the damage happens. If the compliance team is working in a separate system and project managers have no visibility into compliance status, that gap can stay open for days.

The Procore integration keeps compliance status current in the system project managers check every day. Issues surface faster. The compliance team gets fewer calls asking for status. And the audit trail for every compliance decision stays in PINS, where it belongs.

How to get started

The Procore integration is available at no additional charge to PINS customers. To activate it, your Procore Admin needs to update the PINS app in Procore App Management.

Frequently asked questions

Does the PINS and Procore integration cost extra?

No. The Procore integration is included at no additional charge for PINS customers. Your Procore Admin needs to update the PINS app in Procore App Management to activate it.

What data syncs from Procore into PINS?

Project, vendor, and commitment data syncs from Procore into PINS automatically. PINS uses that data to create corresponding compliance records so your team does not need to manually rebuild your Procore project structure inside PINS.

What does compliance status look like inside Procore?

A single compliance status per subcontractor appears in Procore tied to the commitment. A PINS side panel is also embedded throughout Procore showing compliance reporting for the active project, with a direct link into PINS for deeper detail.

Does the integration update compliance status in real time?

Compliance status in Procore updates in real time. If a subcontractor's COI expires, the status flips automatically in Procore without any action from the compliance team. When the compliance team approves or rejects a submission in PINS, that status is reflected in Procore immediately. Project managers always see current compliance status without needing to ask the compliance team or log into PINS separately.

Can project managers approve COIs through Procore?

No. Compliance decisions, approvals, rejections, waivers, and exceptions, are made inside PINS by the compliance team. Project managers have visibility into compliance status in Procore but the review and approval workflow stays in PINS.
